Officials in Kinshasa confirmed that on Saturday that the explosion late on Friday also left 196 seriously injured adding fears that the death toll could rise.

The scene is described as devastating in Sange town where scores of houses were destroyed and bodies were littering in the streets.

Officials also said some people died while trying to steal fuel leaking from the tanker, but most were killed at home or watching world cup soccer in the cinemas.

It is not clear what caused the initial accident or blast but locals said the truck which was part of the convoy, stopped then then the road seem to crumble, toppling the vehicles and piling fuel, fire then errupted.

“It is terrible scene, there are lots of dead bodies piling on the street. The people are in terrible shock, no one is crying or speaking,” Jean Claude Kibaka, South Kivu vuce governor said from Sange which is between the towns of Bakavu and Uvura.

Meanwhile the Congolese government is trying to coordinate with the United Nations (UN) to manage the situation and how to take the injured to the hospital.

Congo’s weak Government has difficulties providing even most basic services due to civil war and neglect in the vast Central African Nation.

Atletico Sign Joao Felix For £113m In Fifth Most Expensive Transfer In History

Atletico Madrid have signed Portugal forward Joao Felix for 126m euros (£113m) from Benfica in the fifth most expensive transfer in history.

Benfica have confirmed Atletico will pay the fee in instalments, after bidding 6m euros more than the 19-year-old's 120m euro release clause.

Only Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele have moved for more money.

Felix has signed a seven-year deal with Atletico.

He made his senior debut in August and scored 15 goals last season as Benfica won the title.

He scored a hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League in April, becoming the youngest Benfica player and the youngest Portuguese footballer to score three goals in Europe and the youngest player ever to do so in the Europa League.

Atletico striker Antoine Griezmann has confirmed he will leave the club this summer, with Barcelona expected to pay his buyout clause of 120m euros.

On Wednesday, Atletico also confirmed the signings of two players from Porto.

Mexico midfielder Hector Herrera, 29, has signed a three-year deal after moving on a free transfer, while Brazil centre-back Felipe, 30, has joined for 20m euros (£17.9m).

My best not good enough yet-- president buhari admit

President Muhammadu Buhari has admitted that the performance of his administration in the power sector was “not good enough.”

He said that this called for more efforts by Electricity Distribution Companies to provide the needed resources and technical expertise.

Buhari assured that his government would play its own part by improving the transmission of electricity.

The Nigerian leader stated in Abuja on Wednesday when the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’ Edo Ewuare II, led members of the Edo State Council of Traditional Rulers and chiefs on a visit to the President at the Presidential Villa.

The Benin monarch, who sought Buhari’s intervention on the poor power supply situation in Edo State, had described it as a “pathetic situation.”

The President, however, appealed to Nigerians for calm, while urging them to be patient with the Discos to deliver on their mandate.

A statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, quoted him as saying that though his administration had put in its best to improve power in the past years, especially improvement in gas supplies, the performance was not good enough.

“We are building infrastructure. We are doing our best, but, obviously, our best is not good enough yet”, the Presidency quoted Buhari as saying.

Buhari praised the monarchs for their combined efforts in tackling trafficking in persons and rehabilitating the victims, who were repatriated back home.

“I am pleased that you have taken up the fight against human trafficking and I know the effect of your intervention will be felt beyond our borders,” the President told his visitors.

Buhari spoke on the Benin-Abuja Road project and his administration’s efforts to develop the agricultural sector, “promising that more will be done to diversify and strengthen the Nigerian economy.”

Rape allegation between busola, pastor biodun and social media jurists

Written by TonyeBarcanista

I have been following the alleged rape incident between Mrs Bisola Dakolo, the wife of musician Timi Dakolo, and Pastor Biodun, the Senior Pastor at COZA, where Mrs Dakolo alleged that Pastor Biodun had multiple canal knowledge of her without her consent as a then 17 years old teenager, an incident that allegedly happened some 20 years ago.

I have watched the pronouncements of some social media jurists and popular figures, including some politicians, musicians, influencers and actors, with most pronouncing judgement against the accused (Pastor Biodun) and a few others "standing with the accused".

May I add my voice to this subject...

1. Does Being A Philanderer Makes One A Rapist?

A couple of people, including Mr Timi Dakolo, the husband of Bisola, have accused Pastor Biodun to be a man that engage in inappropriate relationship with several female members of his COZA church, while that remains an unproven allegation, some commentators pronounced the pastor as "guilty" of rape because of his too many "womanising scandals", while some others narrated his philandering days in Ilorin, Kwara state, where he allegedly had multiple romps with several ladies of loosed virtues. While the allegations/testimony may be true, half truth or completely untrue, it still does not help the allegation of Mrs Bisola.

Rape is non-consented sexual relations and it is a criminal offence. Having multiple sexual partners is not a crime under the law irrespective of moral or spiritual opinion.

2. Bisola Dakolo Herself Was Accused of Having Sexual Relations With COZA Clerics

On May 30, a certain female with Instagram handle @elenapipper informed Mr Timi Dakolo that his own wife, Bisola, who incidentally is the accused of Pastor Biodun, was involved in illicit sexual relationship with Pastors of COZA church and some of her choir colleagues. While the claim of Elena remains an allegation, I believe that "2+2" should be put together by social media jurists if their intent is to give social media justice. I am yet to see the response of Timi and Bisola to that allegation and in all honesty, I expect the Dakolos to sue Elena for defamation/libel so as to prove their innocence- just like several social media jurists have challenged Pastor Biodun to do.

Robber caught in the act at Lagos State

I was driving from abule egba to ikeja and around adealu bus stop around 7:30pm ooo!! I noticed a danfo bus by the side of the road with a C caution and I drove past it on getting to the akowonjo intersection a red BRT bus ran into my car from the side and he didn't stop so I chased after the bus only to notice that the bus was changing lanes and driving dangerously, I chased till we got to cement bus stop and the BRT stopped at a SARS station.

Before they started to jump off the bus through the window on motion. Airtel Nigeria Files Application for Listing on NSE

Telecommunication giant, Airtel Nigeria has officially filed an application with the Securities and Exchange Commission for the listing of its shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

It was revealed by sources at the commission that the telecom company’s application was filed two weeks ago. The Security and Exchange Commission, SEC, was presently examining the application in line with its rules and regulations, the News Agency of Nigeria reported.

SEC would continue in its quest to protect the interest of investors in the market in line with its mandate to regulate and develop the capital market, the source said. The application would be given fast consideration if the company met all the requirements for listing on the nation’s bourse .

The parent company of the telco, Bharti Airtel, in its filing in London on Monday, said that it intended to list the shares on the NSE at the same time with the listing of its Africa unit at the London Stock Exchange.

However, it said its plans were subject to regulatory approval of the SEC and the NSE.

Its African unit had been set at a share price of 80 to100 pence a share for its initial public offer on the LSE to raise about $750m.

According to the India-based network operator, the offer is expected to comprise approximately 595.2 million to 744.0 million new shares to be issued by the company
