The first ever Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Exclusive Fair was held from the 3rd to 8th of May, 2016 with focus on indigenous and local manufacturers and producers aimed at promoting “made in Nigeria” products.
Declaring the Fair open, Governor of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode, who was represented by the Deputy Governor of the State, Mrs. Oluranti Adebule, expressed the government’s appreciation for the support that Konga brings in supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the State. He acknowledged the importance of MSMEs to the Nigerian economy with over 3,000,000 micro enterprises and over 11,000 SMEs, Lagos accounted for the largest concentration of micro and small-scale enterprises in Nigeria. Identifying funding as a major challenge facing small businesses, necessitated the state’s disbursement of N6.25bn out of the N25bn employment trust fund established by it.
